Kindergarten (K1) Admission Application Guidelines for the Academic Year 2025-2026
Admission Requirements for the Academic Year 2026-2027:
1. Children born before December 31, 2023.
2. Hong Kong residents or children with valid proof of eligibility.
Notes on Applying for electronic "Kindergarten Registration Certificate":
1. In line with the government's policy on public service digitization, the Education Bureau launched in the second quarter of 2025.
2. Parents are required to apply electronically to the Education Bureau for their eligible children between August and November 2025.
3. Electronic Kindergarten Admission Certificates will be open for applications starting in September 2025.

Period and Methods for Obtaining Admission Application Forms (No limit on the number of application forms):
1. From August 1, 2025.
2. Parents can visit our school (Tsang Lai Kindergarten, Tsing Yi) to collect the forms.
3. Forms can also be downloaded from our school's website.
4. Admission will not be on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Each eligible child can only submit one admission application form.
6. Hours for collecting admission application forms:
Monday to Friday (9:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Saturday (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Notes on Submitting the "Admission Application Form":
1. Applications will be accepted throughout the year starting from August 1, 2025.
2. Parents can submit the forms in person at our school or by mail.
3. Required documents:
a. Copy of the child's birth certificate
b. Copy of the immunization records (vaccination card)
c. Two recent passport-sized photos of the child (*one attached to the application form, approximately 1.5 inches by 2 inches)
d. Two self-addressed envelopes with $2.2 stamps affixed (*long envelopes, 4.5 inches by 9.5 inches), with the address and child's name written on them.
4. Registration fee: HK$40 (registration fee once paid is non-refundable)
*Cheques made payable to "Tsang Lai Kindergarten, Tsing Yi"
5. Interview timings will be notified to parents by mail.
6. Hours for submitting admission application forms:
Monday to Friday (10:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
Saturday (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
Closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Admission Criteria:
1. Priority Consideration Given to:
- Parents who resonate with the school's educational philosophy
- Siblings of current students at the school
- Parents/siblings who graduated from the school
- Parents who are staff members of the school
- Proximity to the school, residing in the nearby area
- For applications to full-day classes, families with specific needs or siblings currently attending full-day classes at the school
2. Child's performance during the interview
Note: Please be aware that due to limited vacancies, not all applicants meeting priority criteria will be accepted.
Interview Day Arrangement:
1. This year's in-person kindergarten interview day is scheduled for November 15, 2025 (Saturday), with additional dates if necessary.
2. The school will arrange interviews for all children applying for admission.
3. Parents should attend the interview with their child on the specified date and time stated on the admission interview notice.
4. Up to two parents can accompany the child during the interview, where teachers will engage in individual conversations and activities with the child.
5. Please bring the original birth certificate and the Department of Health's vaccination record (original copy) on the day for verification by our school.
Arrangements for Non-Chinese Speaking Children:
- For interviews with non-Chinese speaking children, the school will provide translation or interpretation services as needed, following Education Bureau guidelines.
For arrangements, please contact the school at 2433 3881 if such services are required.
- Parents and children who do not speak Chinese can attend the interview with a Chinese-speaking family member or friend to assist with communication.
Announcement of Admission Results:
1. The school will notify parents of admission results by mail on or before November 30, 2025.
2. Waitlisted candidates will be informed of the results by phone before January 8, 2025.
3. Regardless of acceptance status, a formal letter will be sent to notify all applicants.
Registration Arrangements:
1. For successful applicants: Parents must visit the school during the specified time on the "Centralized Registration Days" announced by the government (January 8 to 10, 2025), submit the acceptance notification letter issued by the school, the Kindergarten Admission Registration Certificate/Kindergarten Admission Permit issued by the Education Bureau, and pay the registration fee.
2. For waitlisted applicants: The school will contact parents to notify them of their waitlist status. Parents should visit the school on the specified date to complete the registration process, submit the Kindergarten Admission Registration Certificate/Kindergarten Admission Permit issued by the Education Bureau, and pay the registration fee.
3. If parents fail to submit valid registration documents on the specified registration date, the school may not be able to complete the registration process for the child. Therefore, parents must apply for the necessary registration documents from the Education Bureau by the specified date.
4. Registration Fee:
- Half-day class: HK$970
- Full-day class: HK$1,570
5. Once the registration fee is paid, if a student decides to withdraw and give up their spot, the registration fee will not be refunded.
6. School Office Hours for in-person visits:
- Monday to Friday (8:30am-5:30pm)
- Saturday (9:00am-1:00pm)
Additional Information:
1. Enrollment for the current year (K1) - Full-day class: 45 students, Half-day class: 45 students. Limited spots available.
2. The school provides school bus services in Tsing Yi and Tsuen Wan. For details, please inquire with the school staff.
3. For further inquiries regarding enrollment and related matters, parents can contact the school staff at 2433 3881.
4. If parents decide to withdraw their child from the school after registration due to unforeseen circumstances, please inform the school in writing. The registration fee will not be refunded. Once the registration certificate or admission permit is retrieved, the spot will be given to a waitlisted student.
